Our Story

Emilia Imports was founded in 1984 by Piero A. Barba, current President and CEO.

Emilia Imports Company LLC is based in Rome, Georgia (northwest of Atlanta), close to the busiest airport in the world and not far from the expanding port of Savannah, Georgia. ‘Emilia Imports’ imports wines from 8 regions in Italy and wines from Greece, Spain, Chile, Argentina, and emerging markets like Romania. Emilia Imports holds federal permits to import wine into all fifty U.S. States but focuses on working with distributors in South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Mississippi. Emilia Imports has grown yearly based on a history of quality service, passion for imported wines, and respect for all aspects of the wine industry. From vintners to distributors to resorts and boutique retailers, Emilia Imports takes pride in helping connect all levels of the global wine industry.
